Alpha Centauri

OTS: “Stop This Train” - a JM Cover by Gabe Bondoc

I know people on Tumblr tend toward the easily digestible pictures and quotes, things you can absorb quickly and keep scrolling…

But this song by John Mayer, here covered by really talented musician Gabe Bondoc, says I lot how I - and I think a lot of people in their 20s or 30s or anything really - feel about life at the moment.

It’s so, SO scary, ‘Life’. Scary enough that, yep, I’m still living at home two years after graduating…

But you congratulate yourself the little growths, roll with it, and eventually, you find your bravery.

Also, massive love to my friends, family, but particularly, my parents. I adore them, forever. x

Work are sending me to Berlin in September- eeeeek!!!

So faffing excited. They’re paying for my hotel for 1 night & return flights. I’m staying for the weekend, so will have 2 free days to explore.

Anyone live there/been there? Let me know what you recommend??

Just been to Berlin!

My little brother arrived there just as I left… Here’s what I suggested for a short stay:

”..As you’re there for only a short time, I’ll split it into categories. U-Bahn called Wittenberg Platz will take you to: Caffee Einstein Stammhaus for a seriously ace, massive brekkie that comes in TIERS, a big department store called KaDeWe with an amazing food court where we ate awesome cake, and a number of shops. Go to Potsdamer Platz station for the PanoramaPunkt, Sony Center, and nice coffee shops, plus able to walk past the Holocaust Memorial from here to Brandenburg Gate. Third, wander around the area near Alexanderplatz to get an idea of East Berlin, TV tower, and all the cathedral and museums and university which is just a lovely area!”

It’s a really walker friendly city, and there are loooads of touristy things you can do. I would also recommend, if you have time, booking a place on the guided tour at the Reichstag (House of Parliament). I had a bit of an existential epiphane moment when the guide we had, who was this old professor called Walter, took us into their religion room and laid out all this theological knowledge and blew my mind with his take on religious similarities!

Aaaanyway have a grand time!

On Periods: Let’s put this shit to bed right now: Women don’t lose their minds when they have period-related irritability. It doesn’t lower their ability to reason; it lowers their patience and, hence, tolerance for bullshit. If an issue comes up a lot during ‘that time of the month,’ that doesn’t mean she only cares about it once a month; it means she’s bothered by it all the time and lacks the capacity, once a month, to shove it down and bury it beneath six gulps of willful silence.
At some point you just have to let go of what you thought should happen and live in what is happening.
